I Love the excitement on all the kids faces!! Such cheap thrills!!
Happy July 4th AMERICA!!!
Sat July 4th The kids played outside until it was dark and we had our own good ol' fashioned fireworks show, minus the crowds. We bought a bunch of fireworks and the boys set them off from Holly's tennis court in their backyard. Most of the kids ended up inside before the fun was even over. We found a few super loud fireworks they didn't like too much.
exactly 1 year apart
Naomi had just gotten out of the looney bin that day.
Can't you see it in her eyes!!!
Bubbles are a must have when you get the kids together. Rylee is a pro. She was the best bubble maker out of all the little girls.
Sunday July 5th, 6th and 7th - It was off for a little camping expedition near Oakley.

Here was out set up. Apparently not many people camp in tents anymore. I hadn't been camping on over 10 years. Let's just put it this way. Dave and I didn't get much sleep the 2 night we were there. Our tent was on an incline and Hadley would wake up every 2 hours crying because she had slid to the bottom of the tent. The kids had never been camping before, so I was determined to show them how much fun it could be. We did have fun, but I forgot how much work it is to camp. We did have some good times.
Favorite Memories from camping:
Making smores
The Fresh air
Watching all the brave ground squirrels come up to us
Ryan's Night vision goggles.
Chubby bunny (Ryan was hilarious)
Davin the UNO card shark
Hadley fishing with a "tootsie roll" on her rod
Violet and I breaking the hammock
Hadley sliding down the tent all night.
Dave being so scared at night he couldn't sleep
Dave Setting traps for the squirrels
Addy crying at night because she was afraid of Bears
Waking up to squirrels in our pots and pans.
Spending time with the Family
The kids had a blast playing with their new fishing rods. We weren't really prepared and didn't buy fishing licenses for the kids, so instead we just tied sticks to the ends of the rods so they could get the hang of casting the line. Hadley said her stick looked like a tootsie roll and she was so happy about all the tootsie rolls she caught.
Lettuce and Ryan
Nama Playing Chubby Bunny
I think he won. He was hilarious

been out of commission for awhile after a bad fall. We were glad we all got
to spend some fun time camping together.
UNO and was beating us all. Even the adults.
Berkley is such a good poser!!
Dave was so excited to use his new axe and show
You push her over in her camping chair. Thanks for the laugh!!
this stick who was boss. I love the (Whiskey Tango) WT tan line and wife beater.
After many attempts to catch a germ infested ground squirrel,
Dave finally succeeded. All it took was a few crumbs from some pumpkin cookies and a pot, a stick and some fishing line. That poor little squirrel under that pot was so scared. Dave literally scared the "crap" out of it. It pooped and peed under the pot. Can you guess who was cleaning that out??
The rest of our time in Utah was spent hanging with the fam and swimming and of course eating. We did also get the chance to go through the Oquirrh Mountain Temple
that is getting ready to open just up the street from Naomi and Chris's new house. Dave and I had never been through a temple open house before.
The best part of our trip was spending time with our family and getting out of the 115 degree temps for a week.
I think next year we might pick a new summer destination that is even a little cooler than Utah and have the whole fam meet up!!
